Bambusa Vulgaris

Bamboo trees. These are big ones. Mom has a smaller type in her garden, in a pot. There are many types of bamboo trees. Do you know that there is also lucky bamboo?

The scientific name is Bambusa vulgaris. Bamboo is very easy to grow. And it grows fast. It is said that bamboo flowers. Wow ... I've never seen one. I'd like to. Have any of you seen a bamboo flower?

Hi Blossom~~ I've heard that, although it is very rare, once a bamboo plant blooms it will die. I've got two varieties. Neither have bloomed. I love them--don't want it to die. :)
