Palms along the Main Roads

A kind of palm - very usual in Malaysia. One can see it almost everywhere along the main road. But I was lucky enough to spot one with fruits (seeds?)
Young seeds were also in sight.

I have a palm in my garden, too! A different kind, though!
What kind do you prefer? Do you have it in your garden?

Hello Blossom, happy merdeka day to you! I have a Lipstick Palm (palm with red trunk) growing in my garden. It is still a young plant. The berries that are in your pictures above are so red... they really made the plam look prettier ;-) Good shot too!

Lovely red seeds. I have one small palm which a friend gave to me. It is a windmill palm and not the traditional kind. It is hardy to zone 7 and I am in Zone 6 so it is not hardy here:( I hope your palm tree gets seeds too!

Hi, Lilli, Happy Merdeka Day! I like this palm in your picture because the fruits are bright red in colour. Are these flowers from where they have the Bunga Mangga replicas used in weddings and celebrations? I have the Pinang Merah Palm at home but no flowers yet.

They do look lovely eventhough they were planted at the roadsides.

I have seen some decorators just cut the whole bunch and place it in a jar as a deco.
Very modern looking idea.

Right now, I have a palm orchid which is not blooming and I got it burnt by over fertilising it. (sob..sob)

We call that palm a christmas palm. I have many growing in my garden. I also have golden palms, bismark, mcarthur, fox tail, spindle, travellers (not really a palm) and pygmy date palm. I love the sealing wax palms but they are very difficult to grow.
